Successful Men That Didn't Complete College: Part 2

Continuing with the list of successful men that never completed college we have:

Simon Cowell who started out working in the mail room for a music publishing company, I believe anyone that has ever watched TV knows how far he has come.

Barry Diller, chairman of Expedia, dropped out of college to form FOX Broadcasting Company

Walt Disney who not only didn't complete college, he didn't complete High School, dropping out at the age of 16

My son didn't finish college and he has his own General Contraction company at age 24. I have a masters degree but quit teaching to paint. Life's funny...

Unfortunately, those were different times...when the nation was growing and there was lots of room for a talented person to move ahead.

Very nice list!
College doesn't make or break a person. I know some extraordinarily smart people who did not go to college and I also know some very overly educated idiots with degrees!
We are in different times, but all things are possible with hard work.

A lot of people that went to college for years, are having trouble finding good jobs today, because they are overqualified.

Good post.

The thing about college is that you really need to make sure you are focused and ready to commit to learning. Not withstanding the cost, college does you no good unless you're ready. I think your list clearly demonstrates that a college degree is not a guarantee to a successful career. It's more about drive, determination and creativity that will propel you to achieve great things.
